Ruinarch - Destroy Civilization in a Dark God Sandbox (Reverse Rimworld)

Ruinarch, an evil overlord simulator with a focus in story generation, is Ruinarch. You can take control of the story by spreading rumors, creating monsters and creating chaos on a massive scale.

Assume the role of an evil god who brings chaos and destruction to a fantasy land of Ruinarch. If you love playing RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress, then you should give Ruinarch a try. It comes with a perfect blend of Sandbox, god Game, Management, Survival game elements that guarantee fun-filled gameplay. Furthermore, the environment is randomly generated, which means you won’t experience the same area/gameplay twice. Ruinarch works similar to a Rogue-like game and supports only Single-player mode. Apart from that, you aren’t supposed to control a holy spirit, as the game decides a role of villain protagonist for you who aims to spread corruption all over the land, threaten innocent people, and build your evil empire. Are you ready to become evil?

Review/First Impression

I don’t know why I love playing Rogue-like games instead of action and shooting. Probably, this is because it may offer story-driven gameplay with sleeky graphics and concept. Furthermore, I’m in love with ideas the indie developers take to represent their skills. Currently, the game is available via “Early Access” but expected to release soon wholly. Exploring the environment from a first or third-person viewpoint could be impressive, but it becomes more entertaining for me when it comes to a top-down view. Instead of tweaking graphics setting or engaging yourself in vicious battles, you are supposed to make some unholy plans and find a way to corrupt the environment surround you. In short, I like the concept and gameplay that feels like I’m playing RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress.

Should You Buy and Play Ruinarch

Ruinarch is fully loaded with an Emergent storyline, sandbox environment, and massive conflicts. It aims to give you a pretty simple task like creating deadly obstacles that cause severer conflicts in the randomly generated fantasy-themed lands. It mixes some humor with a weaving storyline, promising to give you excellent tools to toy with people’s lives and relationships. Having dozens of prominent features and gaming aspects means the game is worth your time and playing.

Summary

As mentioned above, Ruinarch is a god simulator that tasks you with bringing destruction to the land by playing cheap tricks and placing deadly obstacles. You are supposed to take peace away from the people lives by leaving them in chaos with the help of monsters and rumors, meanwhile afflicting villagers with flaws.

Pro:

  • Be a Villain Protagonist
  • A perfect blend of Strategy and Management Game elements
  • Improved AI and Randomly Generated World

    Cons:

  • Lack of Spells

    Conclusion

Although Ruinarch is in its Early Access, still it is the best story generator game that keeps you engaged for endless hours of fun. Almost everyone may agree with my statement that there’s nothing better than becoming a villain who aims to bring chaos and destruction to the land.
